How should I use a former boss who now works at my target consulting firm?
I worked briefly at a small company that ran out of funding, and my former boss later joined a major consultancy I'm interested in. The short role also leaves an awkward gap on my resume. Should I mention the relationship, contact my former boss, or leave it alone?

I recommend the following:Aim to fill this gap in your resume as much as possible (get into pro bono consulting programs like Impact Consulting, etc.)I would mention him. I don't see a world where they read his name in the cover letter and take the time to followup with himIf you think your boss will say good things about you, and potentially refer you to HR (positively), then yes! If you don't think he will, then no. Good luck to you!
