What does a partner referral actually look like?
If a partner wants to refer me, what normally happens in practice? Do they ask me to send my resume, give me a special referral link, forward my details to recruiting, or just tell me to apply online and let them know once I've applied?

It depends!
Some will ask for your resume and forward it to HR. Others will cc HR and tell you to speak with them. Others will get you a link and have you apply through it.
