What kind of consulting role offers varied business problem solving?
I work in SaaS sales and want to move into consulting. I am interested in broad business problems, such as helping a VR company increase adoption or an app find a new market. I like strategy, design and marketing, but do not want to be tied to one narrow industry. What type of role should I investigate?

Now, you're basically describing consulting! In particular, you're describing a generalist role in a strategy consulting firm. For example, McKinsey and BCG.
It's important that you start networking as well! Picking up the phone and actually having conversations with people across these industries/companies will give you a much better idea of what will work best for you!
