Case Interviews

Brainstorming

How many brainstorming ideas should I give, and in what order?

When a case interviewer asks me to brainstorm, should I share every idea I can think of or just the most realistic ones? I'm also not sure what order to put them in. How do I decide how much to say without turning it into a long list?

Ian’s Answer

It totally depends on the question! You need to gauge the complexity/size of the question. Importantly, make sure you structure/group them where valid. Order them in the order that makes sense (i.e. if there's a flow/process, or the biggest first, or the most likely first)
